It makes me laugh how so much stuff can fit into such a small two seater – my car. I’ve done it every time with every production. I packed the camera equipment, props, set accessories, breakfast and costumes into the car and set off for Muswell Hill at 5.45am to be there for 7am.

As with most projects, they tend to be in development well in advance its production, even productions prior to that. This was the case with this project, it was already in development before shooting Hurdles. It was mostly in the mind with a few basic ideas written down on paper.

Hurdles is showing at: Exploding Cinema, Friday 7th November at the Ivy House pub, Stuart Road, Nunhead London, SE15 3BE.
Coming back from day 1 I felt the demand of what the team were involved in. A lot of the extra’s felt the weight because a few were trying to pull out of day 2 for the usual creative excuses. The thought of being up at 5.30am from getting back pretty late the day before can be too much for some people. One extra couldn’t make it because of asthma reasons and didn’t turn up for day 2 altogether.

It was going to be an early start with this shoot. Up at 5.30am to leave for 6.30am and arrive at Dorking station for 8am. I was transporting most of the equipment and props in my relatively small car, and it was my first time using a sat nav, so just arriving to the meet was a some what challenge.
